I’ve decided to start a new category – “Try something new” – because there are so many techniques, tricks and ideas I’ve never tried before. Last week I’ve seen a nice tutorial with some lovely manicures and I’ve decided to try one of them, the one that I’m going to show you today.
It looked so amazing but it seemed to be so easy to do that I couldn’t resist and I’ve done my nails at half past midnight lol! The only problem was that I had no idea how that technique was called so I didn’t know what to write in my post today.. After I’ve googled ‘wiped brush manicure’ I found out that it’s actually called dry brush technique. If you haven’t tried it yet I hope my nails will convince you that you have to do it.
What do you think? Aren’t them pretty?
Now let me explain you how I did this manicure – I started by applying my white nail polish in 2 coats as a base for the pattern. Then I chose 3 colors that work well together – gold, blueish [it’s actually a purple nail polish in the bottle but in a thin layer it’s bluish] and a deep purple. I’ve started with the gold one – I took the brush and I wiped off as much nail polish as possible on a piece of paper then I dragged the brush on my nails, one at a time, without a precis direction as I wanted something random. I did the same thing with the bluish polish, then with the purple one and I topped everything with some glitter applied in the same way. At the end I used a top coat, I’ve picked some studs and stick them on 2 of my nails and that was it, I kept on starring at my nails.
Nail polishes used:
* Farmasi – white polish
*OPI – Love.Angel.Music.Baby (gold)
* KIKO – 497 purple (bluish)
* Flormar – supershine 14 (purple)
* H&M – sparkle my night glitter
* Seche Vite – dry fast top coat
You can drag the brush as many times as you want, creating different effects and patterns, exactly the way your imagination tells you. I have to admit that I’ve put a bit more purple on my other hand and I liked it better, he he. My boyfriend said they look like porcelain nails. ❤
I will be playing a lot with this dry brush technique because it’s easy and the result is unique and beautiful.
